Abu Dhabi Hosts Special Olympics Regional Meeting

The first day of the meeting featured the appointment of Talal Al Hashimi as chair of the Special Olympics International Advisory Council for the Middle East. Attendees from 18 delegations gathered to share best practices and programs. This meeting marks a significant return after six years, with high-level participation including the President of Special Olympics International.

The first day of the Special Olympics for the Middle East and North Africa began with a meeting of the program leaders of the Special Olympics for the Middle East and North Africa at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center. On Friday, 18 delegations from various countries in the region participated in the event with the aim of sharing experiences on best practices and uniform programming.

The assembly is held after a six-year break and stands out for the high level of participation with the participation of Dr. Timoti Shraiver, president of the Special Olympics International, and engineer Aiman Abdel-Wahab, regional president of the Special Olympics for the Middle East and North Africa.
